We plan to express outcomes of a huge project on collecting and analysing data on public transport systems in national level in 39 countries around the world.

Data were collected on journeys made by urban public transport in a fifteen-year timeframe from 2000 to 2015. This is in fact, the first project of its kind aimed at compiling data on public transport in different countries and in national level.

Our data indicate majority of our countries experienced growth in public transport demand in both total and individual level over the last fifteen years and basically, we can say market for public transport is expanding. However, our group of countries is not a homogenous group and different countries are in very different situations and also have had various evolution trends.
In addition to above, we illustrate modal distribution of journeys made by public transport in average in our countries.
